Camping With Aliens In Montana

I hear voices my wife Ana told me. We were above the trees camping in the high mountain tundra of Montana... Ten minutes out of town we found the dirt road that goes up to Storm Lake. We had been there before shortly after moving to Anaconda Montana. The road was hard on the car but we couldn't resist going. This time we would hike up to the tundra and stay the night. My wife Ana had never been camping above the treeline.There were a couple cars but nobody in sight. The lake was sparkling in the sunlight and the mountains of the Anaconda Pintler range rose up all around it. It was quiet and cool here at 8 000 feet. We put on our packs and started up the trail. Our Top Cheap Travel Destination: Anaconda, Montana

Finding a great cheap travel destination means getting more vacation for your money. By that standard Anaconda Montana may be one of the best. Looking for cheap travel destinations is a habit we developed during leaner times. Necessary or not it still means being able to do more for the money. We also continually discover that the cheaper places can be just as much fun. Anaconda Montana is a great example of this.When we first drove into Anaconda in 2002 we loved this little mountain town immediately. We bought a nice house the next day for $17 500. A few months later we sold the home for a small profit and moved on but we have wondered about the town over the years so in August of 2007 we returned for a visit.The home prices may have doubled or tripled since 2002 but this is still one of the more beautiful and affordable vacation destinations you'll find.
